Each day, SCAN extends the hand of hope and support to some of our community’s most vulnerable families. Families in which mom and dad have abused and neglected their sons and daughters.  Families that turn to us to learn how to end the violence in their lives so they can be safe and nurturing for their little ones.

With your help children will build the skills they need to cope with change and adversity caused by child abuse. We can give parents the tools they need to care for their children with love instead of abuse and neglect. 

With your help mom can hold her toddler in her lap, she can hug them, love them, see the smiles and hear the gleeful giggles. These children need a guardian angel to assure that SCAN is there. We need you.

• Your gift will provide hope as SCAN helps moms and dads face and overcome the reason they began neglecting and abusing their sons and daughters.

• Your gift will help a family support worker make sure little ones are disciplined with love - not beaten, are cuddled and nurtured instead of ignored, protected from being sexually abused, being read to - to improve school readiness and stay safe from violence and abuse.

• Your gift will help prevent the next generation of abusive parents by building resiliency factors into children who have been abused. Children can be taught specific resiliency skills that help them adapt and recover from trauma.

Who will hear the cries of pain from a child who has been burned, broken and bruised from physical abuse? Or who will see the hurt in the eyes of a child who is going to school hungry, dirty and ashamed because they are being neglected? None of us want any child to hurt every again. SCAN can stop this childhood suffering with your help.
