Fatherhood Engagement

What: The program goal is for fathers to establish an active role in their child’s life while building the relationship between dad and child. Fatherhood Engagement staff focus on the goals the Department of Child Services has set with the father as well as goals he may have for himself and his family. Areas of focus are parenting skills, co-parenting, safety, home readiness based on the age of the child(ren), housing, employment, education, treatment for addictions and other mental health issues, use of community resources, completion of parole or probation requirements, re-entry into the community after imprisonment, child support, understanding and accepting responsibility for their part in the DCS case and any other need the family may have that will make it possible for the father to be involved with their child.

Who: Fathers who do not have an active role in their child’s life and are referred by the Indiana Department of Child Services.
