PCA Council LaGrange

Over this past year, Destiny Erhardt, SCAN Prevention Coordinator, began working with northeast Indiana counties to establish Prevent Child Abuse (PCA Councils) and discuss the needs they felt were most important to their communities during the holidays.

In LaGrange County, with the help of the DCS director and Lagrange Parkview’s Community Health Coordinator, the PCA Council decided to provide Thanksgiving baskets to their local elementary schools as well as their local food and clothing bank.

When a family is in need, many of us are unaware of how much a new clean pair of socks and underwear can impact a child’s life. Hundreds of pairs of socks, underwear, and toiletries were generously provided from a grant to SCAN from the Olive B. Cole Foundation to support the work of PCA Councils in northeast Indiana.

Destiny also requested donations from SCAN staff to provide sanitary napkins, feminine hygiene supplies, soaps, lotions, and many other items, to support the community.
